This client operates three US manufacturing sites and the northern Ohio plant is its largest. The firm continues to gain market share and is aggressively pursuing new products and markets. Gains in market share are the result of improved customer service, specifically timely on time delivery and improved quality. Productivity gains at this location are largely the byproduct of an active lean manufacturing program which began in 2010. The role of Production Manager leads the largest profit center at this site and reports to the Plant Manager. The Production Manager owns production, maintenance, and continuous improvement for the business unit. With continued growth and expansion this position will lead to Plant Manager responsibilities at this or other US locations.
Our client requires at least seven years of production leadership, including prior experience as a line supervision. A Bachelors degree is required for consideration. Effective people leadership skills are valued more than specific process familiarity but experience with manufacturing of mechanical products is required. Corporate leadership is committed to lean manufacturing concepts, therefore individuals must come from an active lean manufacturing environment. Prior leadership of kaizen events is required and experience with tools such as value stream mapping, standardized work, or 5S is required.
