This client operates three US manufacturing sites with 2011 revenue gains of 20% over 2010 results. Business improvement is the result of pushing its products into new markets plus industry leading on-time delivery while increasing product quality. Productivity gains at this location are largely the byproducts of an active lean manufacturing program. This site seeks new leadership of the production function. The Production Manager is a staff level role, reporting directly to Plant Manager, with a charter to continue the site’s focus on customer performance and productivity/quality gains. The Production Manager owns all of production for this location and is the site’s #2 leadership post. With continued growth this position can lead to advancement into the role of Operations Manager.
Our client requires at least four years experience in a production leadership which includes prior first line supervision. A Bachelors degree is required. Effective people leadership skills are valued more than specific process familiarity. In addition, prior experience with lean manufacturing concepts such as standardized work, 5S, and value stream mapping are required skills. Our client prefers individuals with previous experience leading kaizen events.
