This client is a growing Midwest manufacturer of automotive components with manufacturing sites in Michigan, adjacent states, and recently expanded with sites in southeastern US and multiple international locations. The parent continues to eye strategic acquisitions to expand market share and increase manufacturing and product capabilities. Corporate leadership embarked recently into worldwide deployment of Lean Sigma. This plant is the corporation’s premier and highest technology site. The plant’s success depends upon meeting and exceeding customer metrics for on-time delivery, high quality, and continuous productivity improvement. Initial focus will be tactical execution of quality and productivity initiatives, leading to strategic training and development of the site’s Lean Sigma culture.
Our client requires a Bachelors degree, preferably from Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, but will consider other technical disciplines. Candidates must have at least 7 years experience in manufacturing with a least 2 years experience leading kaizen events and/or executing Six Sigma projects. The client appreciates broadening experience from roles such as manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, or production management. Black Belt certification is highly preferred as is automotive experience.
