Our $2+ billion client is a manufacturer of sophisticated, engineered industrial and commercial products in more than 70 manufacturing sites worldwide. This division is focused on growth strategies, new products, new applications, and poised to pursue acquisitions. To accommodate expansion this site must improve productivity and reduce the footprint of existing products through contemporary manufacturing philosophies such as 5S, standard work, setup reduction, kanban material replenishment, and visual factory concepts. Products at this site are precision electronic devices and instrumentation. The Manufacturing Manager leads all of production at this location. This position is a grooming role geared for developing operations leadership talent.
Requirements include an Engineering or technical Bachelors degree, preference given to Electrical/Electronic undergrads. Candidates must have at least ten years manufacturing experience which includes at least five years in production leadership capacities. Prior training and experience using lean tools such as standard work, value stream mapping, kanbans, 5S, etc. is required. Our client has a strong preference for individuals with prior experience in electronic fabrication, assembly, and testing processes. Superior communication skills are required for success with manufacturing associates, site leadership, and interfacing with engineering personnel. Operations leadership at this site has a focus on metrics, accountability, and counter-measures to continuously improve performance.
