Our client is a systems integrator of sophisticated electronic equipment used by commercial users who represent an array of industries. The corporation is a multi-national manufacturer with a reputation as a leading edge innovator. With several new products nearing product launch, capacity at this site must be incremented, processes revamped, quality systems refined, and operations planning executed with improved precision. Responsible for 4 US and international sites the Director of Operations will drive productivity and quality improvement, and strategically address operations planning deficiencies. Supply chain, demand planning, and logistics are a focus for significant improvement to the bottom line as well as customer OTD. The Director of Operations reports to the Divisional VP Operations who leads 10+ plants worldwide which produce revenues exceeding $700 mil. The client embraces continuous improvement and is transitioning toward lean enterprise concepts. Though a technical product innovator, the corporation recognizes it lags in operational performance, is fertile for productivity gains, and presents an excellent career path for successful operations leaders.
Our client requires a technical Bachelors degree, preference for Engineering, and either an MBA or technical Masters. Experience must include at least 10 years within manufacturing and at least 4 years leading manufacturing and supply chain functions. Prior leadership of other operational functions, such as quality, operational excellence, process engineering, is highly desirable. Experience developing and managing LCR suppliers and partners is required. With an international supply and customer base, experience with international logistics is required. Candidates must be lean advocates demonstrate knowledge of lean tools and planning techniques. Superior communication skills are critical to effectively lead and develop a high potential leadership team.
