Our $2+ billion client is a manufacturer of engineered industrial and commercial products. This division is focused on growth strategies and poised to pursue acquisitions domestically and internationally. The Regional Account Manager for the Midwest Region focuses on the original equipment manufacturers in the fluid power industry, but serves other customers and applications in energy, construction, mining, marine industries. Products are mechanical, electromechanical, and solid state instrumentation to control temperature, pressure, and level position in fluid power and process control applications. Customers are both original equipment manufacturers and a significant distributor network. The Midwest territory is new, the result of realignment in preparation for growth and positioning for better market penetration, covers Illinois and adjacent states, and reports to the Director of North American Sales. This role discovers and develops new engineered applications with OEM accounts, manages contracts, negotiations, pricing, and secures sales agreements. The position provides strategic and tactical leadership to distributors and their field sales representatives.
Requirements include an Engineering or technical Bachelors degree, with an MBA or significant progress toward attainment. Candidates must have at least seven years experience with industrial product sales/marketing, and at least three years experience with products for fluid power applications. Superior communication skills are required for success with customers, internal engineering and business process staff, company leadership, and distributors. This corporation demonstrates a strong focus on people development. Successful performance can lead to expanded leadership responsibilities within the sales/marketing function, or movement into leadership within plant operations.
