Our $2+ bil manufacturing client produces engineered industrial/commercial products in manufacturing locations located worldwide. The corporation is focused on generic growth, is active in the acquisition arena, and demonstrates strong, top-down commitment to lean transformation within all operating units. This Western Washington site is a premier plant, among the largest operations, generating revenues in excess of $200 mil. As a premier site, this plant must groom top operations/business leaders for this site as well as other locations of the corporation. The Manufacturing Unit Manager provides operational leadership for a $55 mil product line, drives lean deployment, cultivates customer focused performance, and mentors/develops the unit’s leadership team. This is viewed as a grooming role with solid potential for Plant Manager ascension within a two year time frame.
Our client requires an undergraduate degree, preferring Engineering or Technical disciplines, and MBA. Candidates must have at least 8 years successful manufacturing experience, including previous operations leadership with a track record of solid career progression. Functional breadth is required which includes prior leadership of other functions such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Sales/Marketing, or Quality. Individuals must be accomplished driving lean initiatives such as 5S, standardized work, value stream mapping, visual factory, cellular concepts, kanban replenishment, etc. This role develops/mentors/coaches professionals - team building and superior communication skills are paramount for success and advancement.
