Our client is a $1+ bil international manufacturer of fabricated products for original equipment manufacturers. The firm operates more than 50 sites in North America and Europe. Generic growth and acquisitions have incremented revenues by more than 50% in the last three years, but surfaced deficiencies in the corporation’s operations. The Corporate VP Operations is charged to develop and implement an integrated strategy for operations, supply chain, and operational excellence disciplines. Opportunities exist to enhance manufacturing via consolidation of redundant operations, to improve strategic procurement and logistics, and to coordinate the corporation’s lean/Six Sigma initiatives. The VP Operations defines the strategy, develops a plan for execution, builds the team, and executes the strategy. Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the corporate leadership team, the position receives significant exposure to the Board of Directors.
This client requires a Bachelors degree and an MBA. Required experience includes at least 25 years in manufacturing to include prior multi-site leadership of operations producing at least $400 mil revenues. Individuals must have led supply chain initiatives which include strategic changes to procurement, material acceleration, and logistics. Candidates must have driven an aggressive operational excellence transformation (lean/Six Sigma). Our client requires breadth of functional experience and ascension through site level developmental roles. In addition to operations, prior leadership experience is desirable in supply chain, engineering, quality, or operational excellence. This is an action-biased culture focused on deliverables and customer metrics. To effectively drive change, persuasive communications, team leadership, and people development skills are critical for success and advancement. 50% travel is expected, primarily within N. America and Europe.
