This client is a subsidiary of a $3+ bil international parent. Producing a unique product mix for industrial/commercial users, successes include a 30% growth rate, and expanded new products and applications. Rapid growth and new product launches have stretched early manufacturing systems, demonstrating the need for better systems, controls, material flow, and standardization. Due to promotion, the site requires a Manufacturing Manager to refine its systems, drive the implementation of lean manufacturing concepts, define and improve metrics, and ultimately drive customer performance. The Manufacturing Manager leads operations for the firm’s #1 product line which contributes 60+% of site revenues. This role reports to the VP Operations, an ardent lean supporter. With a continuation of growth, this role will develop into Plant Manager responsibilities.
This client requires a Bachelors degree, preferring engineering or technical majors. Candidates must have an MBA, or at least significant progress toward attainment. Individuals must at least six years manufacturing experience, and at least four years prior leadership in production. Hands-on experience is required driving lean transformation to include prior kaizen leadership, value stream mapping, 5S, cellular concepts, setup reductions, visual factory, and standardized work. Success requires a metrics focused mind-set and data-driven decisions. The VP Ops prefers candidates with breadth of experience to include prior engineering, supply chain, operations excellence, or quality roles.
