Fueled by both organic growth and an appetite for acquisition, this corporation continues its successful North American and international expansion. With revenues exceeding $2 bil from more than 50 worldwide locations, the corporation’s foundation for operational gains is centered on aggressive lean deployment and customer service. This business group enjoys industry leadership, provides mission-critical devices/systems to its customers, and fosters innovation with R&D investment at levels outstripping competition. The group-level VP Operations is chartered to steer operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, and operations excellence, with aggressive lean enterprise deployment. This business unit produces low volume, complex, industrial/commercial products at multiple North American sites with 1100+ employees representing nearly 20% of corporate revenues. Designated as a developmental assignment, visibility at this key unit is preparation for ascension into a Group President role.
This client requires a Bachelors degree and MBA. Both depth and breadth of operations experience are required. Individuals must have significant prior operations management experience, including prior P&L leadership of single or multiple sites. Lean expertise must include personal leadership of kaizen events and dedication to cellular, 5S, visual factory, and waste reduction concepts. Candidates must have at least 15 years experience within an action-biased manufacturing culture focused on customer performance metrics. Required breadth of experience includes prior functional leadership roles in engineering, quality, operational excellence, supply chain, or business development. Communication, visionary team leadership, and people development skills are critical for success.
The role requires approximately 50% travel. Prior experience with a low-volume/high-mix manufacturing and supply chain model is requisite.
