This firm is a market leader with more than 1400 employees in multiple southern California locations. The role of Manufacturing Manager is located at its headquarters and largest site. Charged with responsibilities as a change agent, the Manufacturing Manager will assess current processes and procedures, develop a strategy to streamline and eliminate waste, plan for lean transformation, and execute the transition. The corporation is focused on lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance customer performance. This role leads a fabrication, welding and machining, business unit with customer facing responsibilities, training/developing staff, budget creation, and driving financial performance.

This position requires a Bachelors degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering, with at least five years experience in production/operations management. Experience with low volume, high mix, machining and welding of large industrial products is desirable. Prior experience and fluency with lean/TPS concepts (5S, standard work, visual management, kanbans, etc.) is required. Six Sigma training is highly desirable. Strong communication skills are important to lead/build teams, to mentor employee development, and effective engage customers and suppliers.
